Free Pattern: Crochet Heart Appliqué

Valentine's Day is coming up - which means it's time to put hearts on all of your crochet projects! Enjoy this quick and simple pattern for a crochet heart. Make one or one thousand - it's easy enough! :)

Materials:

~ 10yds of category 4 weight yarn in desired color.

Crochet 3.5mm (E) hook

Abbreviations:

Ch = chain

Dc = double crochet

St = stitch

Hdc = half-double crochet

Tc = triple crochet

Sl St = slip stitch

F/o = fasten off

Directions:

Round 1: Ch 2. Dc 15 into 2nd ch from hook. (15)

Round 2: Ch 2 (does NOT count as first st). Dc into the same space. Tc four times in the next st. Dc twice in the next st. Hdc once in each of the next four st. [dc, tc, dc] into the next st. Hdc once in each of the next four st. Dc twice in the next st. Tc four times in the next st. Dc once in the next st. Ch 2, sl st into the same space. (23)

F/o and weave in ends, or leave a tail if you plan to sew the heart to another crochet project.
